TRX Training Center
Suspension training is all the rage these days, and the TRX Trainer Center (1650 Pacific Ave., 415-655-4797) is ground zero for this fitness revolution. Created by US Navy Seal Randy Hetrick to make body-weight exercises even more challenging, the 55-minute sessions will work you from head to toe while constantly taxing your core.
We recommend the TRX Circuit Training class, which combines TRX strength-training exercises with cardio drills. The classes ($25 to drop in) are limited to 23 students, so sign up in advance through the center's website. The gym offers towels, showers, and lockers but no locks — so bring your own. — Susi May, fitness director
