Dove Wants You to Stop Checking Your Instagram For "Likes"

We know the feeling of constantly checking Instagram to see how many "likes" a photo has received. It's a practice in punishment and validation all at once. The more hearts, the more worthy we feel. Dove is starting a new campaign to break that cycle, because 60 percent of girls in the UK feel prettier online than in real life.

Getting all dolled up to pose for the camera, achieving the ideal selfie angle, and editing flaws out of photos are all part of the process for many social media mavens. But it's also important to feel confident in the woman you see in the mirror — sans filter. Dove's #NoLikesNeeded campaign is meant to boost self-esteem and body confidence for young ladies growing up in a world full of false advertising.
