Philosophy Takes the Fear Out of At-Home Peels

I've mastered tweezing my own brows, I am comfortable whitening my own teeth, but doing an at-home peel? That always seemed pretty scary. So when Philosophy debuted The Microdelivery Purifying Peel ($42), I had images of my face looking like Samantha Jones's after her chemical one in Sex and the City. Not pretty. Luckily, my jitters were quickly shut down once I slathered this stuff on.

What makes this peel different from other at-home versions is that it's noncosmetic, meaning that you aren't removing a layer of skin in order to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Instead, Philosophy's formula contains lactic acid, salicylic acid, and fruit-acid enzymes to exfoliate your skin and get out all the gunk. Imagine it being like a bunch of minijackhammers getting into your pores and clearing out the dirt. After a minute or two, you wash it off to reveal skin that is noticeably smoother and more radiant. Someone call Samantha Jones and tell her to wise up!
