Doris Day Has Died at Age 97

Doris Day has died at age 97, The Doris Day Animal Foundation confirmed to AP. The actress and singer was best known for her movie roles in Alfred Hitchcock's The Man Who Knew Too Much, Pillow Talk, and Calamity Jane as well as her hit 1956 song "Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)." Day died at 1 a.m. on Monday at her home in California. "Day had been in excellent physical health for her age, until recently contracting a serious case of pneumonia, resulting in her death," the foundation told AP in a statement. "She was surrounded by a few close friends as she passed."
