Things took a dark turn when Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka hit the red carpet at this year's Met Gala in NYC. The two posed together on the red carpet wearing dark, intense tuxedos, and Neil even highlighted his cheekbones with a bit of rather gaunt makeup. Since finishing up his role as the legendary Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother, Neil's been hitting the Broadway stage as the lead role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. His critically acclaimed performance as Hedwig, a transgender singer from Germany, has already earned him a Tony award nomination. We can't help but wonder, though: with such an intense Met Gala look, is he taking a page from Hedwig herself?
