The duke and duchess of Cambridge look great together, clearly adore each other, are the best of friends, and are happy parents to Prince George and Princess Charlotte — but when it comes to the glue that holds them together, it seems it's all about keeping the perfect balance between teasing and tenderness. Prince William usually seems to be the main culprit instigating both, so we're taking a look at all the times he's been Prince Charming for Kate Middleton vs. the times he's been more like Prince Cheeky.

What could be more swoon-worthy than your dashing new husband helping you dismount from a golden horse-drawn carriage while holding your bouquet for you? William was attentive to his new bride on their wedding day in April 2011.

It's not all romance and flowers with the prince, though, as he showed when blowing an air horn at Kate during the London Marathon in 2017.

William rushed to the rescue to protect Kate from a downpour during their tour of New Zealand in April 2014.

When they left hospital with Prince George in July 2013, William took charge of strapping the baby into the back of the car and driving the new family home.

It looked like there was some playful posturing going on at the Commonwealth Games in July 2014.

As a royal, you have to be ready for anything — even a handshake as you're hopping over the back of a seat during the London Olympics. Luckily William was on hand to offer his services.

William says there was a reason he got so competitive in the race he, Kate, and Harry ran for their Heads Together charity in February 2017. As he explained in a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, "There was definitely some steward inquiry needed on that race because we agreed we'd do a show run. Then I see the glint in my brother's eye, and the little cheeky grin that my wife's got."
