It was only right that Allison Janney opened her Oscars speech with a cutting joke: "I did it all by myself." The I, Tonya star took home the award for best supporting actress on Sunday, where she then launched into a passionate speech thanking the people who helped get her there, including her late brother Hal, who died by suicide in 2011.

"Thanks to the cast and crew and bird who elevated my work," she said. "Joanne Woodward, I want to thank you for your encouragement and generosity that gave me the confidence to think I could pursue a career in acting. To my mother and father, my family, my friends . . . I love you. And this is for Hal, you're always in my heart. Thank you very much."
