The Trailer For Ruth Bader Ginsburg's Biopic Will Have You Ready to Take the Stand

The first trailer for the biopic On the Basis of Sex has debuted, and it looks amazing. The film stars Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) as a young Ruth Bader Ginsburg before she became a Supreme Court associate justice and follows her as she fights for gender equality. It focuses on her attempts to get work as a lawyer during a time when women are openly discriminated against in the workforce and the events that lead to her pursuit of what eventually becomes a groundbreaking gender discrimination case. Jones shines as Bader Ginsburg, and the trailer highlights what will no doubt be some of the most profound moments of the film. At one point, Bader Ginsburg tells her family that she knows the case has disrupted their lives, and her daughter replies, "Who is it for if not for me?"

The film also has a stellar supporting cast, including Kathy Bates, Armie Hammer, Justin Theroux, and Sam Waterston. Watch the full trailer for On the Basis of Sex, and be on the lookout when it hits theaters on Dec. 25.
