Johnny Depp Is Terrifyingly Good in the Black Mass Trailer

Johnny Depp is taking the role of notorious real-life criminal Whitey Bulger in the crime drama Black Mass, and in the trailer, he's terrifying, great, and so going for gold. Yes, this already looks like an award season contender! Depp goes from friendly to monstrously threatening in seconds flat (the hairline, contacts, and accent all add to it too). The movie also boasts an incredible roster of stars besides Depp, like Benedict Cumberbatch, Adam Scott, Dakota Johnson, Kevin Bacon, Corey Stoll, and Joel Edgerton, so there are many reasons you'll want to see this movie. Black Mass comes out on Sept. 18, and you can check out all the pictures now. Public service announcement: the music in the trailer is "Till It's Gone" by Yelawolf.
