If you're obsessed with Black Mirror, the under-the-radar British TV show that's reminiscent of a modern-day Twilight Zone, we've got good news. After nearly two years, the show will return with a new chapter. Recently, Netflix released the first images from season three, getting us more excited than ever for some fresh commentary on our bleak society. That's not all that's exciting about the new episodes, though!
The new slate of episodes boasts stars like Bryce Dallas Howard and Halt and Catch Fire's Mackenzie Davis. As a fun bonus, Rashida Jones contributed to the season as a writer!
Netflix has unveiled a first look at the new season, and it looks just as bleak as ever.
Seasons one and two of the show only featured three episodes each. The third season, however, has been bumped up to six episodes. Their titles are "San Junipero," "Shut Up and Dance," "Nosedive," "Men Against Fire," "Hated in the Nation," and "Playtest."
Just ahead of the premiere, Netflix has released a new clip teasing the season. Sounds like it's going to feature everything we love about Black Mirror, multiplied by 100.
At this year's Television Critics Association press tour, creator Charlie Brooker revealed that this season is bigger, but hopefully not too big for its britches. "It's ambitious in terms of scale, in terms of the talent we're working with, and in terms of the world we've created . . . We hope the episodes still feel very grounded."
According to Brooker, technology is "not ever a villain" on the show, and it never will be. "It's always about human failings and messes that technology has helped facilitate."
