Sam Levinson's "Euphoria" can feel like it takes place in another dimension. But as Dominic Fike explained in a July 5 interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music, the lines between the show's iridescent universe and real life were actually quite blurred. "I was a drug addict and coming on to a show that's mainly about drugs, is very difficult," he said. Fike portrays Elliot on the show, a character who also struggles with drugs.

Knowing this, Levinson made sure the now 27-year-old musician had access to a "sober coach" to provide support whenever he needed. Unfortunately, this proved to be unsuccessful, with Fike saying he still filmed many of his scenes while high. "I was so f*cked up during a lot of that show. It was really bad," he said. Eventually, the crew noticed his offscreen behavior and had to take action. "I was reprimanded for it. I almost got kicked off the show," Fike said. "They were like, 'Bro, you cannot be doing this.'" According to Fike, a few of the scenes he shot on drugs made the final cut anyway, simply because there were no other options.

Following season two, Fike struck up a brief relationship with his "Euphoria" costar, Hunter Schafer, although the two have since broken up. He also just released his new album "Sunburn," and Fike said he's looking forward to returning for the third season of "Euphoria" single and sober. "It's gonna be sick," he said. "I have a better dynamic with everybody," laughing before adding, "Well, I don't know. Almost everybody."
