Lately I've been pretty obsessed with Hulu's original series Deadbeat. The second season just dropped, and it's pretty great. The show is a comedic series that follows a lazy slacker medium, Kevin Pacalioglu (played by the charming Tyler Labine), who tries to solve ghosts' unfinished business so they can go to their final resting place. Prior to this show, my ghost knowledge was pretty limited; I knew that Casper was friendly and that Haley Joel Osment saw dead people, but that was about it. Deadbeat brings a whole new perspective and sense of humor to the afterlife. With each episode, I found myself learning more about the undead. Such as:
Brings a whole new meaning to Forever 21! As someone who can never figure out what to wear in the morning, I love this. Perhaps I should start planning what I'm buried in. Too dark?
Here, ghosts keep causing a fake positive pregnancy test. Which is pretty much my nightmare. "A ghost made me do it!" could be your new go-to excuse.
Yep. That's right. No more potty time. So I wonder when ghosts check Instagram? Well, there is one exception to this rule . . . (see GIF)
Take Abraham Lincoln, for example. I'm still wondering what Mrs. Lincoln thought of the play.
They're basically the OG D.A.R.E. role models.
When ghosts get excited or angry, their energy affects electricity. The more you know! (Or you didn't pay your electric bill.)
Doesn't that make you wonder who your afterlife bestie would be? And the whole "till death do us part" thing — does that get you out of being married in your ghost life?
Anyway, being a ghost seems pretty chill, aside from the whole being dead thing. You can check out season two of Deadbeat on Hulu to learn more about the afterlife.
