The James Brown Biopic Trailer Will Make You Want to Get On Up

Chadwick Boseman is used to playing iconic figures; he played Jackie Robinson in last year's 42, and now he's taking on the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, in Get On Up. Director Tate Taylor (The Help) is directing the biopic, which follows the incredibly talented Brown from his childhood to his rise to fame. Some highlights: Viola Davis as the mother who abandons him, Octavia Spencer as his doting aunt, Craig Robinson as his bandmate, and True Blood's Nelsan Ellis as fellow R&B singer Bobby Byrd. The movie is out Aug. 1, so mark your calendars for some soul, because it looks pretty great.
