The Girl on the Train Movie Cast Is Killer

Paula Hawkins's bestseller The Girl on the Train is this year's Gone Girl, and it's also going to be adapted into a movie soon. The Help's director, Tate Taylor, will helm the mystery, which revolves around a woman (OK, a girl) whose obsession with a couple she sees on her daily commute may be more insidious than it seems. Emily Blunt is playing the lead, the other lead actresses and actors have been cast, and now, a familiar Friend and another male lead have joined the cast. If you're at all concerned that the Americans will have trouble mastering British accents, take heart: the movie will be set in New York now, rather than London. Find out everything else you need to know about this hot adaptation, and see the first pictures from the set after you check out the cast.

Emily Blunt as Rachel

Emily Blunt will play the titular girl on the train, Rachel, an alcoholic woman who's still grieving her marriage when she becomes obsessed with the lives of a couple in a house she rides by every day.

Lisa Kudrow as Monica

Kudrow will play a character named Monica who is an ex-coworker of Justin Theroux's character. (As far as we know, this is a character made up for the film).

Rebecca Ferguson as Anna

Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation star Rebecca Ferguson will play Anna, the new wife of Blunt's character's ex.

Haley Bennett as Megan

British star Bennett will play Megan, the woman Blunt's character observes from the train. Fun fact: her first role was as pop star Cora Corman in 2007's Music and Lyrics.

Justin Theroux as Tom

Justin Theroux will play Tom, a role that was originally supposed to go to Chris Evans (whose schedule didn't work out for this film). Theroux's character, Tom, is the ex-husband of Rachel, Emily Blunt's character.

Edgar Ramirez as Dr. Abdic

Point Break's Edgar Ramirez will play Dr. Kamal Abdic, Megan's therapist.

Luke Evans as Scott

Luke Evans has joined the cast as Scott, the husband of the woman who goes missing. Jared Leto was originally attached to play the character.
