The "have fun before you graduate" premise is a staple of the teen comedy genre, and it's getting an update for 2019 with Booksmart. As a pair of overachievers get ready to graduate high school, they realize that they've spent all their time studying and none of their time having fun and doing classic teen stuff. Naturally, they set out to check off all those milestones in the course of one wacky night. As you might expect, the cast of the movie is young enough to pass for high schoolers, but high school (and college) is a few years behind them in real life.
