Beloved Saturday Night Live Actress Jan Hooks Has Died

Saturday Night Live actress Jan Hooks died at 57 on Thursday morning in New York City, following a battle with a "serious illness." Hooks starred on SNL from 1986 to 1991 and worked with some of the biggest names ever on the show, including Phil Hartman, Chris Farley, Dana Carvey, and Mike Myers. More recently, she played Verna Maroney, mother to Jenna (Jane Krakowski), on 30 Rock. She was also widely known for her role as Carlene on Designing Women.
