It's been nearly 28 years since "Full House" came to an end, but we're only now finding out that John Stamos reportedly had the Olsen twins fired from the beloved ABC sitcom — well, just temporarily. While appearing on Josh Peck's Good Guys podcast on Monday, the 59-year-old father of one claimed that he had Mary-Kate and Ashley fired after they wouldn't stop crying during one of their first scenes together. Mary-Kate and Ashley, who famously played Michelle Tanner, were 11 months at the time.

"I couldn't deal with it. I said, 'This is not gonna work, guys,' and I screamed it 10 times. I said, 'Get rid of them, I can't work like this,'" Stamos recalled. "So they got rid of them." Stamos said the show replaced the Olsen twins with "two red-headed kids," adding, "I'm sure their parents loved them and thought they were attractive. . . It had nothing to do with [them being] red-headed, but they weren't attractive."

According to Stamos, Mary-Kate and Ashley were only gone for "a few days" before he had a change of heart. "I said, 'Bring the Olsens back, these kids are terrible!'" Stamos shared. "It was a day or something, we tried the other kids, it didn't work." When asked if the Olsen twins know about this, Stamos said he didn't know.

Reps for Mary-Kate and Ashley did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR's request for comment.
