HBO's Kurt Cobain Documentary Will Be Released in Theaters

HBO's upcoming documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck is getting theatrical releases in Los Angeles, New York, and Seattle. It's the first documentary made with full permission from his family and friends and features interviews with those who were close to him, plus never-before-seen home videos from his childhood and his life with Courtney Love. You'll hear renditions of "All Apologies" and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in the trailer, but the film will also have unreleased songs. The movie will start its run in theaters on April 24, then it will air on HBO on May 4. Thanks to the decision to put it in theaters, the doc will be eligible for Academy Awards. The trailer is definitely worth watching now, just be warned that it does get really intense.
