25 Mulan Moments That Better Be in the Live-Action Movie

Mulan is going to be Disney's next live-action movie, and we could not be happier. The 1998 movie is a gem, due in part to songs like "Reflection" (which was sung by Lea Salonga for the film but you may recall Christina Aguilera's version) and "True to Your Heart," recorded by 98 Degrees and Stevie Wonder. The movie is chock-full of iconic Disney moments and positive messages for young women. While we don't have details about who will be in the cast or whether the new film will diverge from the cartoon, we do have some requests. When Mulan gets tossed into a freezing bath to get ready for her test.
And they make putting perfect makeup on look so easy.
Forever ruining your perception of how hard it is to apply eyeliner.

But fails at the tasks miserably.

So she takes matters (and her long hair) into her own hands.
And fakes being a man to enter the Chinese army.
When Mushu, her dragon friend, makes her some delicious breakfast.
And shoves it in her mouth.
When she and the recruits realize how hard it is to be a warrior.
And at first she's not great at being in the army.
When Li Shang, aka "Pretty Boy," sings to her about being a man.

And there's this brilliant fighting montage.
And then this moment, when she makes it to the top of the pole.
When she uses her newfound skills in the dramatic conclusion.
And she helps defeat the Huns with her expertise.
When she realizes she's exactly who she's supposed to be.
And that she has been destined for greater things all along.
When Li Shang visits her, Mulan's family is totally embarrassing.
But this moment makes up for it.
Finally, when Mulan teaches everyone an important lesson . . .
