What the F*ck Is Netflix's Sexy Beasts, and Why Are We So Invested in It?

Netflix

With shows like Too Hot to Handle and Love Island dominating the dating-show game, it seemed like it was only a matter of time before someone would come along to flip the script. Enter Netflix's Sexy Beasts and its pursuit of making romantic connections based on someone's personality, not their looks. Sure, Love Is Blind has a similar premise about personal connections over attraction, but Sexy Beasts is taking things to an entirely new level with the help of some wild special-effects makeup. Guess they want people to take "it's the inside that counts" literally. Keep reading to learn everything we know about the show so far, including its premise and release date.

Sexy Beasts Premise

Based on a 2014 British series of the same name, the point of Sexy Beasts is for contestants to find love based on personality instead of looks. To achieve this, contestants are fitted with prosthetics and made up to look like various mythical and real-life "beasts." With comedian Rob Delaney as narrator, we're not sure whether we'll laugh, cry, or cringe at the contestants' expense.

Sexy Beasts Release Date

The first six episodes of Sexy Beasts are set to premiere on July 21, with the second set of six premiering sometime later this year.
