Patrick Dempsey is still offering wise wellness advice even five years after playing a doctor on screen. The actor, who famously portrayed Dr. Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd for 11 seasons of Grey's Anatomy, recently shared a post encouraging his followers to wear face masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In a smooth move, Dempsey's caption was the phrase his character frequently repeated throughout the series: "It's a Beautiful Day to Save Lives." Dempsey also added the hashtags #WearAMask and #YourActionsSaveLives.

Dempsey's recommendation is in line with the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention's guidelines, which were updated in early June to encourage the continued use of masks or other face coverings for all Americans in social gatherings or public settings.
