Terms of Endearment is getting the remake treatment, and there's some casting news that just changed the game. The Wrap is reporting that Lee Daniels is directing, and Oprah Winfrey is starring as Aurora Greenway. If you were alive in 1983 when the original came out, you may remember that Shirley MacLaine won an Oscar for playing the role, while Debra Winger scored a nomination for her part as Aurora's daughter, Emma. The movie also beat out The Big Chill and The Right Stuff for the best picture trophy.

Winfrey is currently also signed on to play Mrs. Which in Ava DuVernay's adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time. We'll keep you posted as more casting news comes in!
