"The inspiration for Cerise's first birthday party theme, 'Some Bunny Is One,' came from her nickname, Bun," says her mom, party planner Jade McKenzie of Australia's Event Head. "Ever since she was born, she has been like a cute little bunny rabbit, and her nursery is adorned with little woodland creatures, soft girlie colors, and vintage finds. For her birthday, I definitely wanted the party to reflect my supersweet and loveable girl's first year!"
Jade accomplished that through sweet bunny graphics from Etsy's Billy & Scarlet, lots of pink details, and some of the cutest bunny and woodland-themed cookies we've ever seen. Keep reading to check out all the details, beautifully captured by Kate Di Blasi Photography. Cerise is one lucky little bunny!
My favorite elements were the custom backdrop by Etsy's Billy & Scarlet," Jade says. "It was a beautiful way to tie the theme and all the elements together."

"One of the most memorable moments was when Cerise sat down on a mushroom stool and discovered the woodland-themed cookies," Jade says. "It seems like such a small thing, but I will never forget the look of absolute joy on her face when she tasted (well, devoured!) a cookie for the first time. It's little moments like those that I treasure, as they remind me that the world is an amazing place, ready to be explored and discovered by this incredible little being who is growing so fast."

Cerise's adorable smash cake was topped with bunting from Etsy's Confetti Creations.
"I really enjoyed making the message station for guests to leave little notes for Cerise to read when she is older," Jade says. "A little note in a frame asked guests to write a message for Bun, and they were folded and put into the chest for safekeeping. The backdrop was a canvas hung on the wall and covered in the same material as the picnic blanket outside to help keep the theme consistent."
"I printed off my favorite photos of Cerise from a first birthday photoshoot I did with Kate Di Blasi Photography, put them into Polaroid holders, and attached them with minipegs to a cardboard chest I spray painted pink and gold," Jade says.
