1 Dad Goes Above and Beyond to Style His Daughter's Hair

Greg Wickherst

Just seeing Greg Wickherst and his daughter together gives sweet new meaning to daddy's little girl. A single father to 2-year-old Izzy, Greg had no idea how to do his daughter's hair in the mornings. Instead of letting the task deter him, Greg, who works in admissions at IntelliTec College, popped into the cosmetology department at the school to take some hairstyling lessons — just for Izzy.

He learned three basic styles and practiced on mannequins before applying his newfound skills to his daughter's hair. Greg's story has attracted so much attention that IntelliTec even started Daddy Daughter Hair Do Day, when local dads can come in and learn how to do their daughters' hair. The single dad shared with SF Globe that the best piece of advice he can give parents is to "get out of your comfort zone and learn what they want or need." He even created a Facebook page, Greg Wickherst's Dads Guide to Surviving Hair, where he plans to upload tutorials and give parenting advice to moms and dads out there. Scroll through to see this dad's handy work, and get some inspiration for your little girl's 'do.

Izzy's First Bangs

Greg wrote, "My first bit of advice: Don't do this! I cut Izzy's bangs for the first time a year ago today. I have regretted it ever since! I thought it would be easier to maintain her hair. Use barrettes or bobby pins to hold your daughters hair back until it is long enough to style."
