A Day in the Life of a Family of Four

Talking about finding beauty in the every day! Riverside, CA,-based photographer Summer Berriel has taken the ordinary family photo session and turned it into a beautiful documentation of a day in the life of a local family of four. Berriel spent an afternoon with Heide, Martin, Luka, and Luna, following them around their home and capturing them in the midst of a family story time, a baking session, and a little game of hide-and-seek.

The parents' decision to decorate the home with the kids in mind — a front living room with plenty of space for dance parties, under-the-stairs storage that was transformed into a playhouse, etc. — helped facilitate the lighthearted session.

"The way this family interacts just fills my heart, the home is full of love and fun," Berriel says. "This is a day in life, lifestyle session, and it truly was magical as a photographer too because [I was able to] just observe and not direct."
