When graphic designer, photographer, and mom Anna Nodolf of ADN Designs realized her daughter Peyton would turn 2 on the second of the month, she had no trouble coming up with a theme; it was her golden birthday, after all! "Since Peyton's starting to be very vocal with her opinion, we thought we'd give her some say in the decor," Anna says. "So we included some of her favorite things, too. That's where the shapes, pom poms, and polka dots came in!"
But gold was the star of this show, and Anna wasn't shy about incorporating the color in a big way. Sweet signs, garlands, favor boxes, and many more decor elements (most of which Anna created herself) are just some of the glittering elements of this party. Keep reading to check them all out!
Anna created a golden welcome sign/photo backdrop for the birthday girl, incorporating some of Peyton's favorite shapes.
Wall decals and a geometric garland introduced guests to the "golden" theme.
The food display featured lots of gold elements, including a garland, balloons, and even golden glasses!
Vanilla ice cream was topped with gold poms and signs Anna made saying "hurray, I'm 2!"
Anna made the geometric pendants, inspired by Peyton's love of shapes, herself.
"The gold circle garland was a super easy DIY," Anna says. "I used a two-inch circle punch and cut circles out of glitter gold paper and metallic gold paper. Then I glued them back-to-back on gold bakers twine."
We're smitten with the design for the favor table, which included a display of photos of Peyton and signs mom Anna made especially for the event.
Plain white favor boxes were made special with gold washi tape and sequined bows.
