When a couple struggles with infertility, they have a lot of time to imagine what it'll be like when they find out they're pregnant — and how they'll announce it. Shayna Tal, for instance, always knew she wanted to surprise her husband, Layne, with the good news. So when it finally happened — when she at last got a positive pregnancy test after more than three years of trying to conceive — she was eager to reveal it to Layne in a big way.

"I didn't think I could pull it off," she told Love What Matters. With the help of her longtime photographer Chelsea Whetsel, she made the surprise pregnancy announcement happen – complete with a funny letter board announcing, "Holy sh*t, we finally did it." It included a sonogram image and a tally of exactly how many days they waited for this moment: 1,129.

"My heart was beating so fast from all the excitement," she said. "Once Layne turned around, his reaction was everything I hoped for and more. It was priceless!"

To Shayna, this adorable photo shoot was the start of a new chapter in their lives: "These precious moments I've been waiting for, for years, are finally happening."
