Literally No One Can Solve This Question on a Third-Grader's Math Homework

When Dusty Sappington posted a photo of her 8-year-old daughter Izzy's homework to Reddit on Oct. 31, she was jokingly hoping to get an actual answer to a third-grade-level math question. But lo and behold, she wasn't exactly surprised when users ended up just as stumped as she was.

The question reads: "Janell had 15 marbles. She lost some of them. How many does Janell have now?" And Izzy's answer, a question mark, basically sums up what everyone was thinking.

Although it's pretty clear that the manufacturer of the worksheet made a mistake, that didn't stop commenters from sharing their thoughts on (and in some cases, poking fun at) the matter:

There hasn't been word on whether Izzy ever got her homework back from the teacher, but fingers crossed her answer will suffice. It's what ours would have been, too!
