An Insanely Talented Mother-Daughter Duo's Artistic Collaboration

We've seen a lot of artistic endeavors from parents that were inspired by their kids, or created for their kids. But how about a full-on collaboration? That's what Toronto-based artist Ruth Oosterman and her 2-year-old daughter, Eve, have been doing in a charming project that Ruth calls "Eve's Imagination." She writes:

Now that my little girl has turned 2 years old, her interest in all things art has skyrocketed, especially when she sees me painting. As she gets older I look forward to collaborating with her on many projects, but until then I've decided to see what I can create with some of her many sketches . . . Once she hands me the finished sketch, I will try to imagine what stories and adventures may be found amongst the scribbles, and once I find the magic, I begin painting. I use watercolor and work quickly, letting my imagination and play take root into the painting rather than taking it too seriously. This way I can encourage Eve's contribution without making it too "grown-up" or overcomplicated.

To see how the pair work in tandem, check out this very cool time-lapse video (there's one for every piece that the duo creates):

Ruth has started an Etsy shop where she sells art prints of the paintings for a reasonable $35 each. According to the savvy mom, all proceeds will go directly to Eve's education fund.
