Everyone loves a selfie, especially when it's taken by a cute kid. The aww-worthy photos, however, may pose a huge health risks for kids and adults. Lice expert Marcy McQuillan says these snapshots have led to an increase in lice infestations, specifically among teens.

"I've seen a huge increase of lice in teens this year," says McQuillan, who works at the lice treatment center Niteless Noddles. "Typically it's younger children I treat, because they're at higher risk for head-to-head contact. But now, teens are sticking their heads together every day to take cellphone pics."

So, in addition to using a strong shampoo and rocking an updo, tell your child to stop striking a pose for their phone. It could save you from stressing about lice removal.
