These Infant Bathtubs Are Being Recalled After Multiple Headrests Detached

Summer Infant, a Rhode Island-based manufacturer, just recalled the Lil' Luxuries Whirpool, Bubbling Spa and Shower after 11 babies bumped their heads when the tub's headrest detached. Although no other injuries or drownings have been reported, Summer Infant recalled over 86,000 units after realizing that the fabric sling that attaches the headrest to the tub was missing an important white clip.

The affected bathtubs were sold for $65 on the Summer Infant website and at Babies"R"Us, Amazon, Walmart, and other major retailers. Summer Infant is offering a free replacement of any recalled tubs (you can receive a replacement by filling out this form).   • The item numbers are: 18840, 18850, 18863, and 18873
  • They were sold between October 2012 and October 2013
  • The date codes start with: 1210, 1211, 1212, 1301, 1302, 1303, 1304, 1305, 1306, 1307, and 1308.
