Swollen gums. Rashes. Fevers. Teething puts your tot through a lot of pain, and as moms, we want to do everything we can to ease it. While we can't stop the teeth from coming in, there are a few things we can do to comfort our little ones. From old-fashioned tricks to tasty treats, here are some ways to successfully soothe your teething tot.

01

A Cold Spoon

It may be an old trick, but it works! Place a spoon in the freezer for a few minutes, then give it to your tot to suck on. The combination of the cold and pressure reduces swelling, giving your child some much-needed pain relief.

A Warm Washcloth

Giving your baby something to gnaw on will take their mind off the pain in their mouth. For added comfort, soak the cloth in chamomile tea, a natural way to calm your tot and lull them to sleep.

04

A Frozen Treat

If your child's mouth hurts, they may not have much of an appetite. Get them to eat and ease their pain with a frozen, nutritious treat. These easy popsicle recipes use baby-friendly foods, so you know your child will love them! Source: Foodlets

A Little Medicine

If your tot is especially bothered by their new teeth, a dose of acetaminophen or ibuprofen can calm them down. Just make sure to check with your doctor so you give them a safe amount.
