When you've got a incredibly clever mom, you can pick an obscure theme (like, say, kittens) for your eighth birthday party and expect a dream fete! And that's just what the daughter of Jenny Cookies founder Jenny did. After taking few scraps of vintage kitten fabric, some old kitty art, and a whole lot of creativity — the supertalented baker and party planner whipped up this adorable Ally cat party for her daughter, Ally. Using the birthday girl's favorite colors and lots of yarn, Jenny turned the bare loft above her garage into a magical vintage celebration. As captured by Molly Vaden Photography, guests enjoyed making capes, cookies, and, of course, playing with Ally's presents: baby kittens! From the party's name to the incredible attention to detail, we're purring over this sweet shindig.
Guests got a sneak peak of what was to come with this cute kitten sign.
Simple details like adding ribbon around cookies made everything more festive.
Jenny added colorful painted letters to make the barn less barren.
Jenny made a lot of balls of yarn, and luckily they were easy to do. "To incorporate yarn into the party, I made huge yarn balls starting from round paper lanterns. I wrapped yarn around the lanterns until it resembled a giant yarn ball, then hung them around the party from the ceiling," she says.
Kids love decorating their own cookies, so it always makes a fun party activity.
Ally was able to actually adopt a kitten for the party! The birthday girl got kittens for her big day, which ranked high as Jenny's most memorable moment.
Here's a tip from Jenny on creating an inexpensive DIY party prop: "I picked up inexpensive frames from Michaels and spray-painted them pink, red, and turquoise to coordinate the party colors, then framed the vintage kitten art I had found from eBay."
Party hats and coordinating plates were featured on this sweet tablescape.
Even though hauling most of her party furniture and props out to the barn was tasking, it was worth it!
