It's official: '90s-era teen fashion retailer Delia's (ahem, dELIA*s) is saying goodbye. When rumors first circulated that everyone's favorite choker purveyor was one mad-lib-filled catalog away from its demise, they were met with mixed reactions from our fashion team: "It's a sad day, guys," mourned one editor. "No, I used to get jeans there!" bemoaned another, while a few admittedly replied, "Delia's is still around?!"
Well, after today, it's not. The once-popular fashion chain with a penchant for ransom-note-style branding was in search of a buyer after trading for mere pennies on the stock market a few months back, but it's finally given up the quest for revival. After a perfectly crafted farewell on the site's homepage ("Today Is Last Day! We'll Miss You . . . Bye!"), Delia's will soon be a thing of the past, like the extreme wide-leg jeans the brand sold with abandon.
So why not say farewell with one last shopping spree? Sadly, it's halted all ecommerce, so you'll have to actually find a store and, you know, go to it. But bonus: every last item is on sale. Jeans are three for $15. Dresses are 90 percent off. Actually, make that 90 percent off already reduced prices. Even store fixtures – we're talking tables, chairs, and lights – are 75 percent off.
In the spirit of Delia's heyday, we're on a nostalgic hunt for '90s-era goods. Sure, there's no extralong maxi skirts, starchy corduroys, or flower chokers for sale these days, but we trust these six items – if you can find them – will take you back in the very best way. Source: Delia's
This daisy-printed top ($27) is perfectly nostalgic and also very on trend with the whole '70s daisy floral print resurgence. Plus, note the short waistline – this sliver of bare midriff was the crop top before the crop top was a thing.
Flared jeans are another '90s trend inspired by a '70s trend that's now a current trend, and thankfully Delia's never missed a beat with these stretch flares ($47).
Remember when angora was so in? Well, this blue striped shirt ($37) may just bring the look (and feel) back.
Seemingly straight out of a scene from Clueless, this floral skirt ($35) would work now as well as it'd work back in high school.
Skinnies were not a staple of Delia's catalogs from decades past, but the shade of these acid-wash jeans ($50) was pretty well on point.
Flannel: a '90s teen's uniform. This hooded buffalo-check button-up ($45) is grunge-cool these days.
