Get a Sneak Peek at NYFW's Runways Right Here

New York Fashion Week is almost upon us, but before you see the dresses walk down the runway, there's one place to get a sneak peek: via illustration. Designers Mara Hoffman, Marissa Webb, and more have shared their sketches and inspiration for Spring 2016, giving us a glimpse of exactly what we can expect this Fashion Week. Curious? Just take a peek at their drawings — which are works of art in themselves — and get excited to see the real designs when they hit the runway.

Banana Republic

"Inspired by the rich textures and colors of the spice markets and the history of the artisans in Morocco." — Marissa Webb, creative director, Banana Republic

Rebecca Taylor

The Rebecca Taylor Spring 2016 collection was inspired by London's informal association of artists and intellectuals known as the Bloomsbury set. The members of the Bloomsbury group called into question the traditions of their day and were among the best known examples of early bohemian fashion, which reflected their lifestyle.

Tapestry garden print and patched dresses with quilted bodices in elongated shapes give the collection an eclectic feel. Crochet lace in mosaic patterns are mixed with frayed chambray and floral prints.

Citrus brights are juxtaposed with pastels and grounded with navy and ivory. Grommet details fused with lace patterns add to the overall collection, balancing fragility with strength.
