Joan Smalls Legitimately Looked Like a '90s Supermodel in This Satin Set at the MTV EMAs

We have reason to believe that Joan Smalls is a time-traveler. For the 2019 MTV Europe Music Awards in Seville, Spain, on Sunday, the model wore an outfit seemingly plucked out of the '90s, one that we could easily imagine being worn by Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, and other greats from that decade.

But alas, Joan's satin separates are actually from Brandon Maxwell's Spring 2020 collection. The strappy bra top is actually the same one Dakota Johnson wore to the recent Governors Awards, although she paired hers with a big ballgown skirt. Joan, meanwhile, contrasted her black top with a pink slip skirt featuring a thigh-high slit. She completed the look with pointed-toe stilettos by Jessica Rich.
