Before we talk about the cut and setting of Martha Hunt's engagement ring (because obviously we have to), let's just spend a moment gushing over how the special piece of jewelry was delivered to her: on her dog Bear's collar! "BEAR-er," Martha's new fiancé, photographer Jason McDonald, posted on Instagram, underneath a sweet shot of the couple's pup. Jason attached the sparkler to a heavy-duty hook around Bear's neck and probably sent him out to find his very lucky mom.
OK, now if that's not swoon-worthy enough, that stone! Jason gave Martha a classic solitaire diamond in a cushion cut (expert Mary Frances Joseph of Shane Co. estimates the size to be four carats and the price near $100,000), and it's also got two more baguettes flanked on each side. While that definitely looks to be classic, it's a little more extraordinary to see this design based in vintage gold, and we are certainly big fans of that aesthetic.
"i have a secret..." Martha wrote on Instagram, sharing a few snaps from her vacation with Jason in the Bahamas. Obviously, we've figured her out, but if she still considers that rock a secret, then it's a very big secret at that. Scroll through for a glimpse of Martha's majestic jewelry, then shop similar styles. PS: can we bring our dog to the Bahamas?!
