Michelle Obama is no stranger to cool, casual outfits, but when the first lady means business, she shows up in an outfit that helps her command the room. She did just that while delivering her powerful DNC speech, stepping out on stage in a blue dress by Christian Siriano.

There were so many reasons this particular choice was a smart one. For starters, the specific hue perfectly blended with the background, and while bright and stunning, it didn't distract from Michelle's words.
