America's Largest Closet Was Robbed This Weekend

Remember that 3,000-square-foot, $500,000, three-story closet we introduced you to last week? The one that proud owner Theresa Roemer filled with a massive Birkin and Christian Louboutin collection? Apparently good news travels fast: America's largest closet was robbed this weekend. The intruder entered through a bathroom window and got away with $1 million of designer goods.

Of course, this all comes on the heels of Theresa letting us into her closet. Back then, when we heard about Houston's "she cave" we had to ask, "How do you do it?" And by "it" we mean, "keep your closet clean" and "convince yourself to do anything but run up and down the stairs with glee all day?"

We resisted the urge to pose that second question. But on the point of organization, there was much to learn from Theresa, who also offers up the space for fundraisers and raffles her personal items during the charity events. Turns out, no matter how large or small the closet, the lessons are incredibly valuable. Hopefully these skills will come in handy while rebuilding the closet to its former glory. If You Can't See It, You Won't Wear It

"There’s no such thing as tucking it in a drawer; everything must be visible, or it will not be worn, so explore open shelving options to make sure all items are visible." Source: Chinh Phan for Neiman Marcus

Use Good Lighting

Customize Your Space
