Prada Crafts a Collection For the Woman Who Does It All

As a kind of guiding light for trends, the fashion world waits each season to see what Miuccia Prada puts forth on her runway. For Fall '16 she overdelivers. There's excess in layers and accessories, head-to-toe looks heavy with chains and charms, and belts, corsets, and argyle stockings. It's not without artistry — not more for the sake of more; she collages full looks brilliantly in color and detail, bringing to life the complexity in a single look and, what's more, a single woman.

She borrowed from the boys, giving us sailor hats and Hawaiian prints, while taking, too, from '40s womenswear: feminine dresses and pencil skirts nipped at the waists and finished with lace-up heels. Adding to that, she layers in bags and small notebooks hanging from charms, and she finishes looks with belted coats and hunting jackets right atop gold brocade or colorful prints. Don't you see, she's armed her women to take on anything.
