5 Reasons Fog Is the Most Romantic Weather of Them All

If you've ever seen a kissing in the rain movie scene, you know that rain is the precipitation of choice for sexually charged moments. And when it comes to the "perfect weather" for weddings and day dates, sunny usually beats out all others. But there's one climate that floats under the radar, and he's here to lobby for his spot as the most romantic type of weather.
Meet Karl the Fog, the personification of San Francisco's misty blanket. Karl shares his witty musings on life as the city's cloud cover on Twitter and gorgeous photos of his fogginess on Instagram, much to the delight and amusement of his growing following. So in defense of his atmospheric standing, Karl shared with me his top five reasons fog is the perfect weather for a steamy date night.

My presence makes it cold. Cold leads to staying in. Staying in leads to cuddling. Cuddling leads to . . . starting a movie but never seeing anything past the opening credits.

People love when someone makes something creative for them. I've inspired art, songs, poems, and books. Write about me and love will follow. Or at least a confused "that was . . . sweet."

Hiking is a great form of romantic bonding, and there's nothing more scenic than walking around a park or lake as I hug the trees and sky. Use me as an excuse to put your arm around your partner: "Boy it's foggy out here, come closer so I don't lose you." Or something equally as sappy. I won't judge you.

Chocolate is a well-known aphrodisiac, and cold weather just begs for hot chocolate. Impress your date by adding marshmallows and calling it a "Fog Float."

Standing outside in the fog is like being hugged by a giant cloud. Think of me as the big spoon and enjoy the embrace.
