George Takei's Viral Tweet Is Giving People Hope Despite the Election Results

Many people are in shock over the idea that someone as divisive as Donald Trump won the presidential election. After the news came in, George Takei sent a a tweet that's giving many people hope.

"We got thru it," he said about his family's experience at a Japanese internment camp during WWII. "We held each other close. We kept our dignity and held to our ideals."

Takei's tweet has gone viral with more than 22,000 retweets and 59,000 "likes."
