At Thursday's GOP debate, Donald Trump addressed a recent act of violence at one of his rallies. Video emerged this week of a black protestor being sucker-punched at a Trump event in North Carolina. When asked about such incidents of violence, Trump told the debate audience that, "People come with tremendous amounts of passion and love for the country; when they see what's going on in this country, they have anger that's unbelievable." And while Trump said he hopes his rhetoric doesn't incite violence, he said, "We have some protesters who are bad dudes. We had a couple big, strong, powerful guys doing damage to people."
As for the 78-year-old Trump supporter seen punching the protestor in the video, he has been charged with assault. Here's how the victim described the ordeal to the Washington Post: "Boom, he caught me. After I get it, before I could even gain my thoughts, I'm on the ground getting escorted out. Now I'm waking up this morning looking at the news and seeing me getting hit again." Watch the video of the incident below.
