The classic formula has been redesigned for a longwear finish, with no need for a UV lamp or a salon service. And trust me, it works — those are my hands in the video! Chanel celebrity manicurist Ashlie Johnson [2] worked with us to create a one-of-a-kind manicure that appealed to both the Valentine's Day crowd and those following Spring 2016 trends, and the result was a gorgeous watercolor finish, using both new and iconic shades from the brand. Johnson, fresh off working with her clients Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Brie Larson at the Golden Globes, aspired to create a look that wouldn't just turn heads — it had to be easy to paint on yourself.

Ashlie first applied a base coat and a light neutral shade before swiping fuschia, red, gray, and gold lacquer across my nails. She used a small nail brush to create tiny hearts on accent nails — which are so delicate, they almost appear hidden — and then finished the look with the Le Gel topcoat.
