The Cool-Girl Manicure Everyone Will Be Copying This Season

We already gave you the exclusive preview of all of Chanel's new Le Vernis Nail Lacquers, and now you can see them come to life. The classic formula has been redesigned for a longwear finish, with no need for a UV lamp or a salon service. And trust me, it works — those are my hands in the video! Chanel celebrity manicurist Ashlie Johnson worked with us to create a one-of-a-kind manicure that appealed to both the Valentine's Day crowd and those following Spring 2016 trends, and the result was a gorgeous watercolor finish, using both new and iconic shades from the brand. Johnson, fresh off working with her clients Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Brie Larson at the Golden Globes, aspired to create a look that wouldn't just turn heads — it had to be easy to paint on yourself.

Ashlie first applied a base coat and a light neutral shade before swiping fuschia, red, gray, and gold lacquer across my nails. She used a small nail brush to create tiny hearts on accent nails — which are so delicate, they almost appear hidden — and then finished the look with the Le Gel topcoat.
