1 Woman Dyed Her Hair to Match Her Parrot, Because That's What Friends Do I Guess

As the old Irish proverb goes, "There are good ships and wood ships, but the best ships are friendships." Specifically, friendships that involve getting matching rainbow hair. Bonus points if one half of the twinning duo is an adorable parrot named Mochi. Let me explain.

According to BuzzFeed, a 21-year-old woman named Amber Metcalfe met Mochi at a pet shop last year. "We guess he's almost two," she told the site. "The place I got him from said he was getting old, and no one wanted him because people want baby birds."

Luckily, Metcalfe scooped up the little dude, and they've been best buds ever since. Mochi's orange- and yellow-tinted feathers are straight fire, and I'm surprised he didn't inspire the next great unicorn hair trend sooner. But that's OK, because Metcalfe took matters into her own hands by dying her lob to match Mochi.

Metcalfe admitted to the site that she was hesitant to make the plunge into parroting Mochi's fly style (see what I did there?). "I didn't know how well the colors would match, but now it's my favorite look," she said. Mine too!
