Between her surprise appearance in the upcoming "Barbie" movie and her hard launch of new boyfriend Romain Gavras [2], there's no denying that Dua Lipa is having a moment right now. The latest buzz around the star comes from her appearance at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival on May 19 wearing the dreamiest retro hairstyle: curtain bangs [3].

For the "Omar La Fraise" red carpet, Lipa was decked out in a black, floor-length gown and diamond accessories. Her hair, which was done by celebrity hairstylist Rio Sreedharan [4], was pulled into a messy french twist [5] with long curtain bangs that extended to the middle of her face, framing it perfectly. A classic french manicure and smoky-eye makeup completed the look.

Curtain bangs are just one of the many retro hairstyles that have made a comeback over the last few years. Since then, the resurgence of Y2K trends has extended into the fashion and beauty spaces. Kim Kardashian [6], Jessica Alba [7], and Olivia Wilde [8] are just a few of the other Hollywood A-listers who have also been spotted in the style recently.
