Dua Lipa Makes a Compelling Case For Curtain Bangs

Between her surprise appearance in the upcoming "Barbie" movie and her hard launch of new boyfriend Romain Gavras, there's no denying that Dua Lipa is having a moment right now. The latest buzz around the star comes from her appearance at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival on May 19 wearing the dreamiest retro hairstyle: curtain bangs.

For the "Omar La Fraise" red carpet, Lipa was decked out in a black, floor-length gown and diamond accessories. Her hair, which was done by celebrity hairstylist Rio Sreedharan, was pulled into a messy french twist with long curtain bangs that extended to the middle of her face, framing it perfectly. A classic french manicure and smoky-eye makeup completed the look.

Curtain bangs are just one of the many retro hairstyles that have made a comeback over the last few years. Since then, the resurgence of Y2K trends has extended into the fashion and beauty spaces. Kim Kardashian, Jessica Alba, and Olivia Wilde are just a few of the other Hollywood A-listers who have also been spotted in the style recently.
