Taylor Swift was firmly in her "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" [1] era during her Eras Tour stops in Kansas City on July 7 and 8. In celebration of her career-spanning tour, Swift has been rocking a multicolored manicure [2] featuring colors from every era of her musical career so far. But on the eve of her "Speak Now" re-recording release, the "Anti-Hero" singer debuted purple "paint chip" nails that perfectly captured the spirit of her 2010 album.

If you haven't heard of the paint-chip nails trend, it's perfect for anyone who simply can't make up their minds about what color nails they want. The manicure's name comes from those paint-chip-sample cards found in home improvement stores that feature several different hues of the same color [3]. Just like on the cards, each nail is painted a different shade of the same color creating a gradient effect.

Since "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" is all about the purple, Swift opted for multiple shades ranging from a soft lavender to a deeper hue closer to the color of the voluminous dress she wears on the album's cover. The end result is a gorgeous manicure that should be easy to replicate if you have several shades of purple nail polish sitting around.

Swift isn't the only celebrity embracing paint-chip nails this summer. Earlier this month, Keke Palmer showcased different shades of brown [4] on each of her fingers when she attended an Usher [5] concert in Las Vegas.
