Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" Paint-Chip Nails Will Have You Seeing Purple

Taylor Swift was firmly in her "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" era during her Eras Tour stops in Kansas City on July 7 and 8. In celebration of her career-spanning tour, Swift has been rocking a multicolored manicure featuring colors from every era of her musical career so far. But on the eve of her "Speak Now" re-recording release, the "Anti-Hero" singer debuted purple "paint chip" nails that perfectly captured the spirit of her 2010 album.

If you haven't heard of the paint-chip nails trend, it's perfect for anyone who simply can't make up their minds about what color nails they want. The manicure's name comes from those paint-chip-sample cards found in home improvement stores that feature several different hues of the same color. Just like on the cards, each nail is painted a different shade of the same color creating a gradient effect.

Since "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" is all about the purple, Swift opted for multiple shades ranging from a soft lavender to a deeper hue closer to the color of the voluminous dress she wears on the album's cover. The end result is a gorgeous manicure that should be easy to replicate if you have several shades of purple nail polish sitting around.

Swift isn't the only celebrity embracing paint-chip nails this summer. Earlier this month, Keke Palmer showcased different shades of brown on each of her fingers when she attended an Usher concert in Las Vegas. Her color choice is a reminder that paint-chip nails come in neutral shades, as well as bright ones.
